This post will teach you how to reset Bitmain Antminer S9 series to factory setting.
There are two ways to reset to factory settings:
1. Restore Via “Reset” Button
When the miner boots, this technique can be used in less than 10 minutes.
After powering on the miner for 2 minutes, please press “Reset” button for 5 seconds, then release it. It won’t be necessary to turn off the miner because the factory settings will be restored in 4 minutes and the miner will restart automatically.
Observation*: The reset is only valid if the mining device has been powered on for 2 to 10 minutes; after that time, it cannot be recovered.
2. Restore Via “IP Report” Button (For ANTMINER S9 Series, T9, T9+)
Before holding down the IP Reporter and not releasing it, turn off the miner. Turn the mine back on at the same time. After 5 seconds, the device will automatically return to its factory default settings after being released from the IP Reporter.
*Note: Bitmain Antminer S9 and T9 must be online to update to the most recent firmware on the official website in order to restore the factory settings using this method.
The miner with the SD card on the right of the Ethernet interface cannot use this technique.
